Roar, 2020
"Roar" is a call to speak freely and embrace a freedom mindset. The artwork depicts symbols of slavery and freedom, both literal and mental. The peacock, halfway through removing the veil from its birdcage, represents the idea of being both veiled and unveiled. The expression on the woman's face, possibly representing the Church, suggests that she is pregnant with words she is eager to speak. The elephants in the piece represent the contrast between being captured and having free reign, with one elephant holding a key and the other appearing untamed. The oppressed men in the artwork are shown walking away from their oppressor towards the unknown, where they will find their provision represented by fish and fields.
